There are so many moving parts to class balance that the smallest adjustment can make a class massively more viable or absolutely unplayable. With an entirely new expansion, there’s so much new content that balance is even harder than usual.
One of the classes that’s been having a few issues is the Warrior class, which doesn’t seem to be doing too well in any of the specs. Protection Warriors are among the lowest ranking tanks, while Arms is generally hanging around the middle for DPS.
Fury Warriors, however, have been kicking around at the very bottom of the rankings. They’ve been well into the bottom five damage specializations for Castle Nathria since its release, mostly due to poor tuning leaving the spec extremely underwhelming.
This led to a 5% buff to the damage of all abilities for the specialization not too long ago, a much-needed increase. However, time has proven that to be far from enough, as the spec most recently came in at 24th out of the 25 specs for Nathria.
Blizzard has posted class tuning for January 12!
Assassination Rogue: All damage abilities increased by 8%.

To that end, Blizzard has seen it fit to bring another buff to the class, this time a considerably larger one. At reset tomorrow, Fury Warriors will be given an 8% damage buff to nearly all of their damaging abilities.
The only abilities that won’t be affected are two talents that players have the option to take. The talent tree offers access to Dragon Roar and Bladestorm, two staples in the AoE options for Fury Warrior.
These two abilities will not benefit from the 8% damage buff, but all other damaging abilities will be seeing the buff. Considering that these two abilities are among the strongest options, them missing out isn’t too terrible.
Other defensive abilities or utility options will see no change to this, which some are a bit disappointed in. However, given that the issue with the class seems to be a lack of damage, increasing other options may not be too effective.
Time will show if this 8% buff will be enough for Fury to be seen as more viable, especially as far as raiding is concerned. Given the weakness of the specialization at the moment, there’s a good chance that future buffs may be on the way as well.
