Fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know the couple has certainly come upon difficult times over the last few years, although, there’s no doubt they have since learned to breathe a bit easier after they got what they wanted regarding the royal family back in the United Kingdom.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the royal family at the start of 2020 not long after Prince Andrew came under fire for his alleged involvement with Jeffrey Epstein – the New York sex trafficker who was known for hanging around people like Andrew, Bill Clinton, and Harvey Weinstein, among others.
Approximately one year after Megxit and the couple has no interest in returning to social media, Page Six reported this weekend. An insider who spoke with The Times of London explained Meghan and Prince Harry‘s feelings toward the platforms, saying how it was “very unlikely” they would return to Instagram or any of the other sharing apps.
Thus far, the couple has been on the receiving end of massive “hate,” the source remarked. According to the insider, before they left the royal family, social media was a big part of how they marketed themselves and their brand.
However, their intent to leave the royal family sparked quite a bit of backlash in their native country from people who considered them as “ungrateful” for what the family offered them.
Back in March 2020, Meghan and Harry posted a goodbye message for their fans on a Sussex Royal profile that has since been deleted. Around that time, Meghan and Harry also revealed the name of their first baby together, Archie.
Regarding their other online endeavors, Meghan once ran a blog called, “The Tig,” but she pulled it offline in the midst of her engagement to Harry (although new reports have suggested Markle is considering re-starting it). Meghan also had a personal IG profile at one point, as well, but she deleted it as well.
Page Six says Archie and Meghan now have a Spotify podcast, however, their Archewell Charity won’t be using social media accounts. They also released a Christmas card through an animal rights organization called Mayhew.
