”Meghan Markle Should Not Try To Change Royal Dynamics,” Stephanie Powers Says — Does She Have a Point?

Stefanie Powers, the former ”Hart to Hart” star, gave a candid interview with the Daily Beast to talk about her life and career. Powers, who befriended Prince Charles years ago through their mutual passion of polo, took the chance to discuss the British royal family.

Powers did not hide her admiration for Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, pointing out that she is ”impeccable” and never ”puts a foot wrong.” However, the Powers heavily criticized Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, suggesting that she needs to rethink her role within the royal family.

Stephanie Powers questioned Meghan Markle’s acting career, highlighting that she was not a Hollywood Royalty who married a British Royalty. She had a role in ”minor TV series”, Power added, saying that she should not be compared to Grace Kelly, who was indeed a Hollywood Royalty marrying a Prince.

Going further, Powers commented that Meghan Markle’s job now is to be Prince Harry’s wife, not to change the royal dynamics. Powers added that the former American actress should take her duties more seriously and not turning them into another form of celebrity.

Meghan Markle was not the sole member of the British royal family that Powers criticized. The 77-year-old actress named Prince Andrew ”stupid.,” adding that both he and Prince Harry have making fools of themselves in common.

As for Princess Anne, Queen Elizabeth’s only daughter, Powers, said she loved her because of her sensual personality, her attitude, and commitment towards her duties as a royal. ”She never makes a circus of life whenever she steps out,” Powers said, adding that Princess Anne is ”the real thing.”

Asked about her long-time friend, Prince Charles, the former actress, said he would make his mother proud once he becomes a king. She pointed out that he deserved more credit than he was given until now, highlighting that the public does not know who he is in reality.

In October, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened up in an unprecedented way to reveal how the negative press attention has hurt their young family. As a part of the ITV special ”Harry & Meghan: An African Journey” documentary dedicated to their first official overseas trip to southern Africa, they broadly discussed the intense media scrutiny the Duchess had to cope with after she married Prince Harry. Meghan Markle admitted she never expected to easy, but she hoped at least to be fair.
