Articles Of Impeachment Officially Signed—Using A Reported Two Dozen Pens

On Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made what many consider a crass move, one that has drawn her much criticism.

After officially signing the resolution needed to transmit two articles of impeachment to the Senate, Pelosi reportedly handed out what is being called commemorative pens. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the pens had her signature emblazoned on the side of them.

The tone of the signing was in complete contrast to the day of the vote. Whereas on the day Pelosi had appeared dressed in black, stating that the day was a solemn one, the day of the signing seemed to give the appearance of more of a celebration.

Stephanie Grisham, White House press secretary, took to Twitter, stating: “Nancy Pelosi’s souvenir pens served up on silver platters to sign the sham articles of impeachment. She was so somber as she gave them away to people like prizes.”

One Republican, Elizabeth Harrington, was quick to remind that this was not a situation to be handing out pens. After all, you hand out pens in the case of accomplishments, as in the cases of historic trade deals, such as that with China.

It is worth noting that while the House Speaker Pelosi was officially signing the articles of impeachment, President Trump was at the same time closing the deal on a trade agreement with Liu He, Chinese Vice Premier, in the White Houses East Room.

The impeachment process, which was reportedly triggered by unfounded claims that Trump put forth a quid pro quo allegedly pressuring Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden, a former Vice President, and his son Hunter, offering US military aid for the country in return.

Trump holds to his statements that the entire process is a hoax and that he, himself, has become a victim of a political witch hunt. All of this is being led by the House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her cronies in the House.

Before the commencement of the articles, House aides proceeded to set out two small trays that held more than two dozen of Pelosi signature emblazoned pens. Pelosi used each of the pens, signing just a tiny bit of her name, and when done, handed them to the attending lawmakers. Reports indicate that at times, she was smiling with pride.

After attaching her signature to the articles on Wednesday, they were then sent to the Senate for the beginning of the official trial. The trial is expected to go into full swing early next week.
