A new report from Hot New Hip Hop says Amazon Studios is gearing up to promote their upcoming movie, Coming 2 America, which is the sequel to the first part of nearly the same name, Coming To America. The first movie, starring Eddie Murphy, came out in 1988 and it was a huge hit for the actor.
Reportedly, the pictures from the studio feature Murphy as the lead, Akeem, and then Arsenio Hall, as Semmi. Some of the other original cast members were in the movie as well, however, new stars appeared in it including people like Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones, and Jermaine Fowler.
Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, released a statement describing the first part of the series as a “cultural phenomenon” that has gone down in history as one of the best comedies of all time.
As most know, Eddie Murphy has gone on to become one of the most celebrated comedians, however, he has encountered controversies in the past, including over his personal life. For instance, it was first revealed that Mel B, the former Spice Girl, was going to have his baby in 2006.
In the same year, Nicole Murphy and Eddie Murphy finished their divorce. Eddie later denied that the baby was his, but Mel B was able to prove it with a DNA test. Fast-forward to today, and Mel B has taken to the courts to get more money from Eddie as she has claimed her ability to support herself has been greatly affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
Us Magazine was the first to report that Mel B had asked the courts to get more money from Eddie because of her reduced working hours and ability to make money.
Mel’s team argued that she needed more money from Eddie because her ability to make her own had been affected massively by the pandemic, moreover, she says she had already tried to do so privately but wasn’t able to get into contact with Murphy.
Thus far, Eddie has a sum total of 10 different children with 5 different women.
